JoannJ
thank you for your comment.
Receiving, or our ability to receive, is in direct reflection of our feelings of self worth. There are many things that affect our opinion of self worth from the moment of our conception. We can live in the past analysing until the cows come home on where we think our experience was detrimental to our self esteem. We may never discover that. What we can do is be aware that self worth is the root of the issue and work in the present moment to feel differently about self and about life.
You have experienced powerful life events and now they are in the past and the only time to revisit them is to learn from them and to love them. There are different ways we can do this. The point is not to revisit the past to re-experience the story and emotional attachment. I did that for twenty years after being a "victim of gang rape". Instead of being raped once I was raped for over twenty years. I found ways to look at the event for what it was and moved on with wonderful learnings about myself and my personal power under any circumstance. It's my choice to do so.
Learning to be in the present moment and seeing myself here and now is where I know I am worthy of loving myself as I am. This enables me to give and receive freely.

Wishing you love and light and deepest gratitude for sharing on this blog.

Due to grief and loss, I have personally found it so much more rewarding to give unconditionally and have been extremely "blind" when it comes to receiving.

Now in my 6O's, seriously pondering my state of equilibrium and anxious to see the "light"

Giving openly is as natural as breathing, receiving is far more difficult and painful.

Yes giving and receiving are the same and this is why we can only receive according to our willingness to give. Giving freely without thought of recompense is the surest way to receive the infinite abundance of the universe. When giving becomes as natural as breathing - without thought or planning etc then the heart is truly open to receive.
