Imagine……… by John Lennon is probably one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard. Whenever I hear it played it brings a tear to my eye and I often stop to wonder the source of the tear – which emotion or feeling is the basis of the expulsion of salty jewels trailing down my cheeks.
Today I was emailed a video which I believe is from the TV show “Glee” – I have not seen the show. The clip you will see below is of a group of teens from many cultures and differing ranges of physical capabilities, expressing the powerful lyrics of “Imagine” in their own way.
Once again, tears sprang suddenly into my eyes and I asked myself “why?”.
The words of love, peace, connection and unity speak to the very soul and origins of our being and I believe people are touched by this as recognition of where we come from, who we really are.
At times we are so disconnected and we forget that we are all “ONE” and when we hear the words
”And the world will live as one”
we feel the longing of connection for something we feel is lost. The beauty of the Universe and the laws that create us is that we are never truly lost, we have only had a temporary lapse in memory of who we are and where we come from. There are many occasions in our daily lives that provide reminders and promote our knowledge of the basis for our existence which is love and happiness – happiness in the true sense of the word. Being open to those reminders and taking some time out each day to just “be” is crucial to feeling the connection that is always present.
I was given a lovely quotation during the week from a beautiful friend – Paula – who said all we need to do is “give more love”. I hope I have quoted her correctly – I’m sure you get the drift.
Remember the powerful words of John Lennon that have touched generations and will continue to do so – such is the timeless power of the wisdom behind the song. Make it your dream and vision for your most powerful life you can live, and live it today!
